MIECZYSŁAW A. ŁYP

MIECZYSŁAW
A. ŁYP

DREAM OF RADOMSKO

I return to the abundance of flowery cherries
Into a not fully conscious
Secret of beauty
The whirlwind of white and air
In huge green bays

The landscape with road
With scented crowns
Of swaying whispering linden
Of the Rożewicz town
Is my dearest image
And until today
The most important truth

To this fresco painted by me
With white parish church
With the monastery
Sunken in maroon silence
With ripe cherry and mature linden flowers
I add every night
White sails from Golden Horn
And white doves from blue Bosporus

*
Sen o Radomsku
Powracam w nadmiar kwitnących wiśni
W nieuświadomioną do końca
Tajemnicę piękna
Wiru bieli i powietrza
W ogromnych zatokach zieleni

Ten pejzaż z dorgą z pachnącymi koronami
Rozkołysanych rozszeptanych lip
Z tego miasta Różewiczów
Jest moim najdroższym obrazem
I do dziś stanowi
Najważniejszą prawdę

Do tego malowanego preze mnie fresku
Z bielejącym kościołem Fary
Z klasztorem
Zatopionym w kasztanowej ciszy
Z bujnymi kwiatami wiśni
I dojrzałymi kwiatami lip
Co noc dodaję
Białe żagle ze Złotego Rogu
I białe synogarlice znad błękitnego Bosforu

SUNRISE

inspired by a painting of Jerzy Nowosielski

An orange ball of sun
From Nowosielski painting
On a monochromatic warm background
With burning scarlet frames
Rolls slowly
And slowly opens dawn over Heraclea

The light will soon swallow the sea
But here
It spreads
To small individual landscapes where
The edges of far horizons
connect
repeating abyss of sky and land

and so written
in Master’s voice
from saint icons saint apostles
silver churches and blues
I keep looking
A heavenly apple tree a sunny vineyard
And orange grove

**
Wschód słońca
interpretacja obrazu J. Nowosielskiego

Pomarańczowa kula
z obrazu Nowosielskiego
na monochromatycznym ciepłym tle
z płonącymi szkarłatem obramowaniami
toczy się wolno
i wolno otwiera świt nad Heraklionem

Ten brzask tak jaśniejący
Za chwilę pochłonie morze
- tymczasem tu
rozprzestrzenia się on
na maleńkie pojedyńcze pejzaże
gdzie brzegi
dalekich szarych horyzontów
łączą
powtarzającą się oddal nieba i ziemi

I tak zapisany
W tej glosie Mistrza
Od świętych ikon świętych apostołów
Srebrzystych erkiewek i błękitów
Znów szukam
Rajskiej jabłoni słonecznej winnicy
I pomarzańczowego gaju

READING AN ICON

I enter the blue
Via broad trees of the olive grove
And the columns of temples
Hanging by murmuring sea
On white cliffs

My whisper
And my words
Are led by the dawn
Under the crown of skies

And skies
Like in a Nowosielski painting
Are all blue
As soft as an angel’s prayer
And nimbs of saint Cyril and saint Claus

I keep seeing
The beauty the light
The saturation
Of life and death
Of betrayal and sin
Forgiveness and penance
With holy colour of hope
With holy colour of our names
In world’s vast abyss

***
Czytanie ikony
W błękit wchodzę
przez rozłożyste drzewa gaju oliwnego
i kolumny świątyń
wiszących u szumiącego morza
na białych skarpach

Mój szept
I moje słowa
Świt wyprowadza
Pod koronę niebios

A niebiosa
Jak u Nowsielskiego
- całe w błękitach
Łagodnych jak modlitwy aniołów
I nimby Świętego Cyryla i Świętego Mikołaja

Ciągle widzę
To piękno to światło
To nasycenie
Życia i śmierci
Zdrady i grzechu
Przebaczenia i pokuty
Świętą barwą nadziei
Świętą barwą naszych imion
W przepastnych otchłaniach świata
